On 6th February 2025, a Free Mega Eye, BP & Sugar Screening Camp was held as part of the DMCH Outreach Program in collaboration with the Noble Foundation, under the expert guidance of Dr. Bishav Mohan. This event took place at Maa Sharda Vidyapeeth, Industrial Area-A, Ludhiana, with the goal of providing essential healthcare services to the local community. Open to students and their families, the camp aimed to make critical health screenings easily accessible to all.

Dr. Priyanka Arora, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, and Dr. Mahesh Satija, Professor of Community Medicine, along with their dedicated teams, provided expert care, personally examining over 400 patients.

The services offered during the camp included comprehensive eye examinations, blood pressure and blood sugar check-ups, and the provision of near-vision glasses for those requiring corrective eyewear.

The event was also enhanced by the active participation of students who shared poems, promoting health awareness in an engaging and creative way. This unique approach added a personal touch to the camp, fostering a sense of community involvement.

Several key highlights from the camp underscore its importance. 8 patients were diagnosed with cataracts and scheduled for cataract surgery at the hospital. Free medicines were distributed to attendees, and many patients discovered for the first time that they had high blood sugar and blood pressure. This emphasizes the critical importance of regular health check-ups and early detection.

The camp played a vital role in improving the health and well-being of the community, particularly those living in slum areas. By offering screenings, medications, and health tips, it provided the local population with the tools they need to better manage their health.

This successful initiative stands as a testament to our commitment to making healthcare accessible to everyone. We are proud of the positive impact this camp had on the local community and look forward to continuing our efforts to promote better health for all.
